A New Breed of Aluminum Flats Skiffs
Breaking the Mold
At Macuch Craft, we’re not just breaking the mold—we’re reinventing it.
By building custom flats skiffs from tough, lightweight, and low-maintenance aluminum, we’re redefining what an aluminum poling skiff can be. Each skiff is a functional work of art, merging precision engineering with bold, original design.
While traditional skiff design has long followed a narrow lineage of archetypal forms, we chose a different path—crafting an entirely original hull shape never before seen in the aluminum skiff world. With sweeping organic curves, seamless transitions, aggressive styling, and oversized casting decks, our skiffs stand apart—not just from other aluminum boats, but from the entire skiff category.
Backed by a foundation in mechanical engineering, and utilizing advanced in-house CAD design and fabrication, we’ve overbuilt our hulls to excel in both performance and durability. Made from .18” thick aluminum—thicker than most—we incorporate oversized boxed stringers and a full-length keel strip to absorb impact and prevent dents, giving you a rugged platform that’s built to last.
Explore below to discover the features and craftsmanship that make a Macuch Craft skiff truly one of a kind.

The Enterprise 17
Lightweight, beamy, and shallow-drafting, our debut aluminum skiff is built to comfortably fish three adults in under 10” of water—while still handling open water with confidence and turning heads at the ramp.
Uncompromising Craftsmanship
At Macuch Craft, we've invested countless hours into perfecting a build process that delivers flats skiffs of the highest quality.
Every step has been carefully engineered to minimize variation and eliminate human error—because to us, quality isn't just a goal; it's the foundation of everything we do.
Here’s what sets our construction apart:
Built on a custom-fabricated rotisserie fixture for precision alignment
Hull crafted from 0.18” 5086 marine-grade plate aluminum
Deck constructed from 0.12” 5052 aluminum for strength and corrosion resistance
0.18” boxed stringers provide exceptional hull rigidity
Reinforced underdeck structure built to handle serious abuse
Oversized 2” bent aluminum tubing used for grab rails and poling platforms
Full-length keel strip adds critical rigidity and protects against impact
Complete hull sandblasting followed by premium powder coating to fully seal and protect the aluminum

About Macuch Craft
Macuch Craft was founded by Louis Macuch, a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in fabrication, design, and hands-on craftsmanship.
Before launching Macuch Craft, Louis spent much of his life building and modifying classic cars and hotrods—developing a sharp eye for detail and a passion for precision. In his free time, he began designing and constructing custom mini jetboats, which sparked his interest in aluminum boat design.
Born in Georgia and raised on the waters near Beaufort, South Carolina, Louis has always had a deep love for fishing and life on the water. Early on, he recognized a gap in the market for high-quality aluminum flats skiffs and saw an opportunity to bring something new to the industry.
Combining his Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Georgia with years of fabrication expertise and CAD design experience, Louis began work on the Enterprise 17 in 2022. Hull #1 launched in the summer of 2024.
Now, the journey continues with the upcoming Voyager 16—a true microskiff built for shallow water exploration.
